A Whirlwind of Transformation: A Stunning Traditional Home Update

Hey there, friends!

If you’re a fan of home renovation adventures, you’re in for a treat! Buckle up because we’re about to take you on a wild ride through our most recent traditional home update. From sprucing up the laundry room to revamping the kitchen, stairs, and bathroom, this project has been nothing short of an epic transformation. I have been waiting for what feels like forever to share this one with you… so let’s get into it!

Laundry Room Bliss

Our journey began with a seemingly humble space – the laundry room. It’s one of the spaces that can get overlooked, but we had no plan of doing that in this home. Armed with visions of organization and charming built-ins, we embarked on a mission to create a laundry haven that would make these customers excited to do laundry. Ok… maybe not excited, but definitely not mad about it.

Before. . .

After. . .

Say farewell to the outdated yellow oak cabinets and hello to a burst of color that instantly brightened up the room and made it 1000x more charming. We added these stunning, custom built-ins for storage, a bench with hooks for the kids, and some open storage to keep everything accessible, but not so closed in.

Another fun addition to this laundry room is the custom-made wood drying racks. These are the perfect blend of useful and adorable.

A few of my other favorite aspects of this room are the black iron light fixtures and the herringbone hardwood. The flooring took some convincing (mostly just me trying to convince the guys that the extra labor to lay it would be worth it lol), but I think it is the perfect look for this space.

The Kitchen Revival

Now, let’s talk about the kitchen. It’s the place that is the heart of the home, but this outdated kitchen was in dire need of a makeover. With visions of traditional elegance, we set out on the journey of a kitchen revival. Out went the dated oak cabinets and in came classic shaker cabinets in the perfect warm-toned white. We opted for “honey bronze” hardware by Top Knobs, linked HERE. For the island we wanted to warm things up even more, so we went for a medium finish oak with cooler undertones to keep it from being too yellow. I think this is the perfect complement to the warm white perimeter cabinets and pairs so well with the pale oak flooring.

This custom window bench built-in adds the perfect amount of charm to this space.

Polished nickel faucets play perfectly with the gold hardware and wood tones.

For the perimeter cabinets, we opted for black quartz tops and added a fun backsplash detail behind the range hood. This makes for a showstopping view and for easy clean up after cooking.

Stairway to Style

As we made our way to the basement level, we set our sights on updating the staircase. It’s not just a means of moving from floor to floor; it’s an opportunity to infuse style into every inch of this home. Out went the worn-out carpet, and in came the new. We went for a fun, herringbone pattern to call back to the floors in the laundry room. For the banister, we went with oak, stained to match the flooring, and black iron balusters. Creating a harmonious blend of classic charm and modern flair.

To add a little more dimension to the large wall behind the stairs, we added a grid accent wall. I love the texture this brings and painting it the same color as the surrounding walls gives it a timeless feel.

We added another accent wall in the upstairs bedroom giving it the perfect amount of personality for this growing teen.

From Basic to Blissful

And then came the bathroom – a place of relaxation and rejuvenation. Well… it will be when we get done with it. We waved goodbye to the boring and set out on a mission to create a space this family will want to show off. Another room that is a stunning mix of traditional and modern. We kept it traditional with the shape of this oak vanity and with the brass accessories.

After. . .

Then we brought in the modern with black faucets and large-scale textured tile floor. The best part about having 24″ x 24″ tile floor is that there are hardly any grout lines to clean. That’s a win in my book! We decided to lighten the budget by keeping the existing tub/shower unit and just upgrading the shower and tub faucet.

Overall, I think this space is a great mix of stylish and practical. With several kids, this bathroom will stand the test of time, but will also be a showstopper when dressed up and ready for guests!

A Traditional Journey Worth Every Minute

This home remodel journey was more than just walls and fixtures; it was a journey turning this family home into one the customers always dreamed of. The laundry room, kitchen, stairs, and bathroom – they’re no longer just spaces; they’re reflections of their personality, style, and all the love we poured into this home.

If you’re contemplating a home remodeling adventure, I say take the leap! Embrace the chaos, revel in the progress, and celebrate every small victory. It’s a journey that will be so worth the rewards – a home that truly embodies your vision & is ready for making memories for years to come.
